How many times have you thought of your ex in the past 24 hours? Are they constantly on your mind? Do you wish that you could convince your ex to try again?
Relationships always have their ups and downs. But the problem is that many couples give up as soon as things get tough. If you think you and your ex called it quits too soon and you want to get back together, how can you convince them?
One of the best ways to approach your ex is to first think about what your ex is feeling at the moment. If you just broke up, then your ex might need some time to get over your last argument. A little distance and perspective will go a long way towards convincing your ex to try again. Wait for the dust to settle before you talk to your ex about the break up.
While you are waiting, try to put yourself into your ex's shoes. What do you think really caused the break up? If you can look at things from your ex's point of view, it will be easier for you to know what to say to your ex. A sincere apology will help tremendously. Even if you don't think the break up was your fault, if you can see things from your ex's perspective you will at least be able to say "I understand why you feel that way and I'm sorry."
If you have waited a few days after the break up and your ex still won't talk to you, you can write them a short letter. You basically want to tell your ex that you understand where they're coming from and that you are sorry for the way things ended. Let them know that you would like to talk about it but that you understand if they don't.
Convincing your ex to get back together isn't about telling your ex what you think they want to hear. It's not about making a lot of promises that you won't be able to keep. It's about showing your ex that you really care about them and can relate to their feelings. The more you are able to do that, the better off your relationship will be once you do get back together!
